The Skill Training Program ?Artisian Village

The Directorate of Archaeology and Museums and Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa jointly launched a skill-training program, aiming at to keep alive dying Arts and culture, and create self-employment opportunities for local community.

The skill training program ?Artisian Village?, a joint venture of Archaeology and Museums and TCKP, initiated to impart local community about various Art and crafts, says Director Archeology and Museums Dr Abdul Samad.
Director said about new 12 to 15 new skills have been further selected for the training program, which is being carried out under supervision of master trainers.
Dr Samad, who is project Director of Artisian Village Gor Ghatri skill training program, said that basic notion is to develop entrepreneurship and create self-employment opportunities through the skill development program. He added that more than 60 members of local community, including women, would be imparted about various Art and craft skills in different phases, during four months training period. He said special honorarium would also be given to trainers and participants of the training program.
Advisor to Chief Minister on Sports, Tourism and Archaeology, and Youth Affairs, Amjad Afridi said the unemployment is major challenge for the incumbent provincial government and it was taking steps to create maximum job opportunities under public-private partnership programs.
Amjad Afriid said the skill-training program also an initiative to address the joblessness issue, by development of various skills among local community and to sustain and initiate business on self-basis.
Secretary Archaeology, Sports and Tourism, Dr Aftab Durrani said the Arsitian Village Skill Development Program, a joint venture of Tourism Corporation and Directorate of Archaeology and Museums, which is a sustainable and long-term effort to keep alive rich Arts and Culture through this important program.
