Photo show Roshni Ka Safar at RACThe Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) arranged a colourful function to mark the Independence Day, attended by renowned artists of the country.

The function was arranged with the collaboration of Ali Zaib Group and attended by a large number of artists and art lovers from the twin cities.

The Ali Zaib Group, on the occasion, amused the audience with different national songs inducing the spirit of patriotism.

The group also performed a play ‘Tum Kon Ho’ which received huge applause from the audience.

The function ended with a dance performance ‘Dhamal’ on a folk tune and the audience also joined in.

A number of artists, including Ali Zaib, Tauseef, Mohammad Imran, Taimoor Safdar, Laraib, Usman, Ghazala and Naheed, participated in the event.

Meanwhile, in connection with the Independence Day celebrations, a photographic exhibition based on Pakistan Movement titled ‘Roshni ka Safar’ was also arranged at the Rawalpindi Arts Council in which more than 200 rare photographs were put on display.

Former Azad Kashmir prime minister Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan accompanied by RAC Director Naheed Manzoor and Waqar Ahmed inaugurated the exhibition.

The aim of the exhibition was to highlight Muslims’ struggle for their homeland under the dynamic leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

Addressing the ceremony, Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan said that Pakistan came into existence after great sacrifices. He said that struggle for Pakistan is revealed clearly through this rare collection.

He said that Pakistan would progress to great height in the near future. Sardar Attique congratulated RAC for conducting the unique exhibition.

Waqar Ahmed said that freedom of the nation was the result of the struggle of people involved in the Pakistan Movement. The exhibition will remain open for the general public until August 17.
