Painting Competition at RAC

Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) on Thursday organised a painting competition titled “Women and Development” in connection with International Women’s Day.

More than 50 girl students from 10 colleges participated in the competition. Former RAC Resident Director Naheed Manzoor was the chief guest on the occasion. .

According to judges’ decision, Sana Sagheer from Government Degree College for Women Gowalmandi secured first position while Sidra Kanwal from the RAC and Amal Riaz Cheema from Joint Staff Public School and College Chaklala got second and third position, respectively.

Addressing the gathering, Naheed Manzoor said that women’s role in every field cannot be falsified. “Women achieved their rights by dint of an incessant struggle,” she said.

She added that empowerment of women was integral for the prosperity of any country.
