Great revolutionary poet Josh Malihabbadi 21st death anniversary

Josh MalihabbadiJosh Literary Foundation’ will observe the 21st death anniversary of great revolutionary poet Josh Malihabbadi on February 22 to pay homage to his services.

 

Several ceremonies including seminars, memorial meetings and discussion forums will be organized to remember of great poet and apprise the younger generation of different aspects of his professional life and his personality.

 

Josh was born on December 5, 1894 in Malihabad Lucknow India, where he received his early education and after that he did senior Cambridge at Aligarh University.An official of Josh Literary Foundation told APP here on Sunday that he also worked with Nizam Deccan as translator in Hyderabad Deccan.

 

He informed that Josh was awarded with ‘Padma Bhosnam’ from government of India which is the biggest award of the country. In the regime of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, he was appointed as advisor film and publication and also rendered services as advisor in ministry of Education.

 

He also worked with ‘Taraqi Urdu Board’ as Motamid-e-Aizaz at Karachi, the official said adding, Josh’s remarkable books were ‘Shola-o-Shabnam’, Harf-o-Hikayat, Samoon-o-Saba, Mehrab-o-Mizrab, Tala-e-Fikar etc. Josh’s autobiography ‘Yadoon ki Barat’ is milestone in Urdu literature. Josh died on February 22, 1982 and was buried at Islamabad graveyard at Sector H-8.
