First ever Environment Museum to open on June 5, 2013

Karachi will make history on Wednesday June 5, 2013 with the inauguration of Pakistan’s first ever Environment Museum located near NIPA opposite Sindbad. Vice Chancellor Karachi University Dr Muhammad Qaiser will open the joint venture of UNIKARIANS and Gul Bahao, a non-government organisation dealing with municipal wastewater management and alternate use.

An exhibition will also be organised on the day to mark World Environment Day. The exhibition will begin at 10 am and the formal inaugural ceremony in the evening.

Nargis Latif of Gul Bahao said a large number of products made of waste by Karachi University students will be put on display at the museum. She added that using waste for different products would ease the environmental problems, besides generate revenue and offer self-employment opportunities to the jobless.
