This small museum, representing Punjab’s rich culture and heritage, is presently housed at the Alhamra Cultural Complex under the Lahore Arts Council (LAC).

Executive Director Punjab Council of Arts Chaudhry Asif told this scribe on Saturday that the Information and Culture secretary would hold a meeting to decide where and on what terms and conditions the museum should be reestablished.

It may be mentioned the LAC does not want its place at Alhamra Cultural Complex to remain occupied by the crafts that belong to Punjab Council of Arts as it wants to utilise the place for art classes.

The Shakir Ali Museum is also holding a workshop on calligraphy techniques which will be conducted by artist Ashraf Heera in collaboration with Bin Qalandar studio. The works would be produced during the workshop which would continue from Sept 1 to Sept 6 and would be displayed at the Shakir Ali Museum on the Defence Day.
