Exhibition concludes at Contemporary Painting Gallery

An exhibition on “Landscapes, Cityscapes and Related Conceptual Paintings” ends at the Contemporary Painting Gallery of the Lahore Museum on Monday.

Punjab University Vice Chancellor Dr Mujahid Kamran visited the exhibition and participated in the closing ceremony. PU College of Art and Design Principal Dr Rahat Naveed Masud, Dr. Barabara Schmitz, senior faculty members, art lovers and a large number of students were present on the occasion.

The exhibition was organised by Punjab University College of Art and Design and Lahore Museum to honour the teachers and graduates of the college for their important role in the creation of the modern Pakistani Landscape Painting tradition.

Dr Kamran lauded the efforts of teachers and students and applauded this endeavor. The artists whose work has been displayed were Ustad Alla Bakhsh, Muhammad Hussain Hanjra, Khalid Iqbal, Zulqarnain Haider, Mughees riaz, Kaleem Khan, Ghulam Rasul, Shahid Jalal, Mian Ejaz ul Hasan, Anna Molka Ahmad, Naseem Hafeez Qazi, Ghulam Mustafa, Zulfiqar Ali Zulfi, Dr. Ajaz Anwar, Abd al-Rehman Chughtai, Moyene Najmi, Musarrat Mirza, Zubeda Javed, Khalid Mahmud, Musarrat Hassan, Iqbal Hussain, Rahat Naveed Masud, Kehkashan Jafri, Maliha Azami Aga, Quddus Mirza, Durre Waseem, Naela Amir, Munawar Mohiudin, Amjad Naeem, Mirza Matloob Baig, Iqbal Khokhar, Muhammad Arshad and Anila Zulfiqar.

PU awards 4 PhD degrees: The Punjab University has awarded 4 PhD degrees to the scholars in which Asma Rafiq D/o Muhammad Rafiq in the subject of Botany after approval of her thesis entitled “The Physiological and Molecular Mechanism of Chromium Tolerance and Hyperaccumulation in Plants”, Sarwat Zahra D/o Syed Aejaz Hussain in the subject of High Energy Physics. after approval of her thesis entitled “Geometrical Picture, QCD and RadII of Hadrons/Lighter Nuclei’’, Sabina Awais D/o Awais Ahmad in the subject of Urdu after approval of her thesis entitled “Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi Ke Nasr Nigari Ka Tanqeedi Jaiza” and Muhammad Hanif S/o Muhammad Rafiq in the subject of Botany after approval of his thesis entitled “Aphyllophorales and their Morphotypes in Pakistan”.
