The HSS Network LUMS aims to:
1. to introduce students to the disciplines within the HSS & their significance (panel discussions, competitions, trips & workshops have been designed for this)
2. to help students achieve their goals by:
i. informing them about the worth of an education in the HSS disciplines(seminars/information sessions on career & academic opportunities for HSS majors such as weekly/monthly “Life After Graduation of a HSS Major” series will serve the purpose)
ii. providing them with guidance where they are required to make crucial decisions such as major selection, course selection, etc that is likely to have a significant impact on their lives (weekly ‘Live Stories’ & semesterly ‘How to Chose the Right Major/Career For You?” sessions will take care of this)
iii. inculcating in them skills/impart on them knowledge required to achieve success in academic & professional fields (weekly workshops and research & publication projects have been designed to meet this end)
iv. providing them with a support system to depend on (semesterly socials, workshops & discussions have been designed for this)
The HSS Network LUMS has been founded with 3 fundamental aims that work at 3 different levels and can be summarized as follows:
i. promotion of the disciplines of HSS all over Pakistan (one of the ways to ensure i. is ii.)
ii. promotion of the department of HSS at LUMS (again, one of the ways to ensure ii. is iii.)
iii. facilitation of the LUMS HSS students in the pursuit of their academic and career oriented goals

-seminars (refer to our “The Undergraduate Diaries” series event proposal) on
a. career opportunities for HSS majors titled “Life After Graduation of a HSS Major”,
b. academic opportunities for HSS majors
-workshops focusing on research, writing, communication and critical thinking skills
-socials including once in a semester student-faculty gathering & once in a month trips
-competitions (including All Pakistan “Out of the Box” competition)
-conferences (International Student HSS Conference)
-“Live Stories” series
