Holy Quran Exhibition at National Museum Karachi

An exhibition of rare copies of the Holy Quran opened at the National Museum here on Sunday.

The show will remain open to the public from Monday till Aug 31.

Inaugurating the exhibition, Sindh Minister for Culture Sassui Palijo said that after passage of the 18th constitutional amendment, the federal authorities had handed over many heritage buildings, monuments and other assets to provinces, which would look after them on their own.

The National Museum and Wazir Mansion were among the assets given to the Sindh govern-ment, she said, adding that her department would ensure their better maintenance.

She said that the culture department had chalked out various programmes for the rehabilitation, restoration and preservation of Sindh’s heritage including buildings, monuments, artifacts and other assets.

The minister said that a ‘culture centre’ was also being established in Karachi where exhibitions would be organised.
