“This year 272 artists from all over Pakistan are participating in the exhibition displaying 300 plus works,” Alhamra Art Gallery curator Taniya Sohail told Dawn on Thursday.

She said that in this exhibition-cum-competition 10 best works would be given cash and certificates. The winners would be given Rs10,000 each and certificates.

The jury consists of Dr Shahida Manzoor, Ayesha Jatoie and Muhammad Ali Talpur.

This year too like the pervious years calligraphy is not part of the exhibition because of dearth of space.

“We have not included calligraphy works in the exhibition because we are overloaded with other artworks,” said the curator.

The results of the competition would be announced at the opening ceremony of the exhibition. The art show will be inaugurated by Culture Secretary Muhayyudin Ahmad Wani.
