Artist Statement:
In February 1989, I conducted my first market research assignments in Pakistan as part of my business education at ESCP Europe, a business school. On behalf of Lefranc & Bourgeois, a French supplier of artist materials, I investigated the opportunity to penetrate the Pakistani market.
Starting from Karachi housed in Federal B area in the friendly family of a Pakistani friend in Paris, then in Lahore visiting the colleges of arts and beautiful architecture, I fell in love with Pakistan culture. In 1992, returning to tour Northern Pakistan on the KKH to China, I stopped in the mountainous village of Passu (Gojal, Hunza).
The exhibition follows the Colour walk exhibition I organised at Cape Town Central Library Nov 2013/Jan 2014 to bring all my Cape exhibitions (flower and marine nature, human hair, and Cape minstrels) into one, through colour.
My objectives for this Colour walk to South Africa is to open Pakistani public to South Africa nature and human beauty, to let visitors inspire from colours positive messages that help them in the now; and to invite artists eyes and art workshops to add new dimensions to photography, multiply South African beauty by Pakistani creativity.
