Culture Secretary Muhayyudin Wani inaugurated the exhibition. Along with amateur artists eminent calligraphers such as Abdul Wahid Nadarul Qalam, Erfan Ahmed Khan, Munawarul Islam, Arif Khan, Rehan Munawar, Munawar Mohuddin and Zakir Hussain also put their works in this grand art gala.
Calligraphers said they were thankful to the Punjab Arts Council annually hold the exhibition.
Most of the calligraphers said that the exhibition helped groom talent and suggested that it should be a touring exhibition.
Saira Kausar, an art student, said that such exhibitions helped art students understand the calligraphy in depth.
Another calligraphy student Riaz Ahmed said that exhibition was a pan aroma of colours and novel themes and young students can learn a lot from the works of seniors.
The exhibition depicts both traditional and contemporary calligraphy trends. The exhibition will continue till Aug 6 from 9:30am to 6pm.
