LAHROE An exhibition of master pieces of prominent artist Dr Ijaz Anwar was kicked off at Lahore City Heritage Museum, Mall Road Lahore. The exhibition was organised in collaboration with Lahore Museum wherein more than 150 pieces of art including paintings of old buildings of Lahore, landscapes and cartoons were displayed. Paintings of famous personalities of Lahore have been displayed in the Hall of Fame of Lahore City Heritage Museum while relics of Sikh, Mughal, and British eras relating to Lahore have also been placed at the exhibition. PNCA stages comedy play Shadi Ho To Aisi
ISLAMABAD: ‘Shadi Ho To Aisi’, a comedy play based on a social issue of marriage and superstition was staged here late Wednesday under ongoing drama festival at Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA).
Syed Saleem Afandi has written and directed the play, which Stage Artist Welfare Society, Rawalpindi presented.
The story revolved around the character of a superstitious rich man who wants to marry his son according to the advice of a fortuneteller.
While his son goes against the superstitious ideologies, the story takes a twist and situation goes against the son.

The Fourth Alumni Collective, which opened on December 3, marks the 18th batch of graduates from the Indus Valley School for Art and Architecture, Karachi.“The show is really a reunion and an art show all in one,” said Anbrin, the IVS gallery manger. “It’s organised by the Alumni association and the idea is to retain the bond between alumni and the institute.”

Art for charity exhibition organised by Dawn at the Karachi Expo Centre

KARACHI, An Art for charity exhibition has been organised by Dawn at the Karachi Expo Centre during the UAE expo inaugurated by the prime minister on Wednesday. The exhibition will continue till Dec 2.
The exhibition is part of the national effort to provide assistance to the victims of the devastating natural calamities — the earthquake and floods — in Pakistan.

Kashmiri Art Festival opened at Rawalpindi Arts Council

Kashmiri art festival starts at Rawalpindi The Kashmiri Art Festival opened at the Rawalpindi Arts Council here on Monday.
The AJK minister for tourism inaugurated the festival. The work of ‘papier mache’, Kashmiri embroidery, Kashmiri shawls, frames and paintings of different artists were displayed at the festival. Art of ‘papier mache’ was transferred from Iran to Kashmir six hundred years ago and it flourished with full enthusiasm by the Kashmiri artisans. In ‘papier mache’ work, paper is moulded to give different shapes and decorated with various colours.
